With Newcastle United now fighting for the top targets in European football, even Paris Saint Germain could be concerned about competition from the Magpies.
That’s said by French outlet Le10Sport, who feature a piece on the race to sign Moussa Diaby from Bayer Leverkusen.
The website claims that PSG, who previously had the 23-year-old in their academy, want him back at the club, but they’d have to fight Arsenal and Newcastle in that battle.
And unlike other times, there’s not great confidence that the French side could win the financial fight for the signing.
Le10Sport writes that the interest from Arsenal and Newcastle ‘could worry PSG’.
It isn’t said yet how much Bayer Leverkusen would demand to let Diaby move in the summer. They only spent €15m to sign him from the French club in 2019, and the winger is now valued by Transfermarkt at €50m.
Featuring for the Bundesliga side, the winger has 13 goals and nine assists this season. The interest from Arsenal and Newcastle isn’t something new, but it’s interesting to see that rich clubs are now worried about their interest.
