As international breaks are often seen by fans as a reason to worry about the players’ physical conditions, there are now some news from Brazil which may be of interest to Newcastle United fans.
As reported by Globo Esporte, Magpies’ midfielder Bruno Guimarães has a thigh swelling and is set to miss out the friendly against Ghana on Friday.
It’s claimed that the Newcastle player even did physical work on Monday and trained normally on Tuesday, but complained about pain after the session and an exam caught the injury.
According to the story, Guimarães is set to be now evaluated ‘day by day’. It’s said that going to the bench on Friday isn’t completely ruled out, but he’s expected to be spared from that.
Brazil are later playing Tunisia in another friendly on Tuesday, and since manager Tite is doing the final tests before the World Cup, it’s more likely the midfielder will be used there, in case he’s fully recovered.
Bruno is then set to return back to Newcastle, with Eddie Howe’s side preparing a visit to Fulham on the 1st of October.
