OGC Nice’s Evann Guessand has been linked to Tottenham Hotspur on multiple occasions this year, and Newcastle United are now also keen.
That’s according to Africa Foot, who cover the latest on where Tottenham and Newcastle are in their pursuits of the forward.
The 24-year-old is said to be leaving the Ligue 1 club and Fenerbahçe have already come forward to sign him. It’s claimed a move to the Turkish club has been put on hold, allowing others to sign him.
Tottenham negotiations are slowing down, and this could help Villarreal, who have been in regular contact to try and find an agreement. In the ‘last few hours’, Newcastle have entered the race for the Ivory Coast international, and the La Liga club have to be wary of them.
According to Africa Foot, Eddie Howe’s side have contacted Guessand’s entourage, but are yet to open formal talks with Nice.
With Guessand set to leave the French club, the next few days will be decisive to define his future. Whether that’ll be at Newcastle, Tottenham or Villarreal remains to be seen.
Evann Guessand scored 13 goals and registered 10 assists from 42 games last season.
