There’s a new rumour in town, everyone, and that’s the idea that Newcastle United can save Arthur from Juventus.
Fresh off their first win of the season, the Magpies appear to be gaining much needed momentum ahead of the Christmas period and an ever important January transfer window, where Eddie Howe could get a chance to remodel the squad at his disposal.
It likely won’t be huge changes, with those probably coming in the summer if Newcastle avoid the drop, but with Arthur really struggling for game time under Max Allegri, it’s clear a solution needs to be found.
La Repubblica, relayed by Calciomercato.it, report that the Premier League side are alongside Sevilla in the hunt for the Brazilian, and ‘would like to give him the opportunity to show off’ in one of the biggest leagues in Europe.
Arthur’s last appearance for Juventus dates back to October 30th, which shows you just how little he is playing these days, making the swap between him and Miralem Pjanić one of the biggest swap flops in the history of football.
Can Newcastle save the day? We’ll have to wait and see, but if Sevilla are also there, they might be the preferred choice, with the former Barcelona man knowing La Liga from his time in Catalonia.
