Newcastle United look set to miss out on the signing of Kim Min-jae from Bayern Munich, as he’s now eyeing a move to Al-Nassr.

That’s according to Fussball Transfers, who report that Newcastle are one of several European clubs interested in the 28-year-old.

They explain that while a host of European clubs, ranging from Newcastle to Inter Milan, Juventus, Chelsea and AC Milan have all shown an interest in the centre-back, his future may now lie in Saudi Arabia. PSG’s director of football Luis Campos met with the defender’s agent two weeks ago.

According to FT’s information, Al-Nassr are now the favourites to secure his signature. They have been negotiating ‘persistently’ in recent days and are on the way to an agreement with the player’s entourage.

Kim, in turn, is also very interest in a move to the Saudi side and that is helping negotiations over his signature to progress.

Bayern are willing to let the defender leave for a relatively small fee. They’re currently demanding €30-35m for Kim, despite paying €50m to Napoli two years ago.

That had seemingly attracted Newcastle and others, but they now appear set to miss out to Al-Nassr and will have to turn their attention elsewhere.
