The agent for Valentino Lazaro has hinted he is ‘already very far’ in negotiations with a club about his client amid suggestions he could stay at Newcastle United.
Lazaro spent the second half of this season on loan at St James Park, with Steve Bruce securing him on loan during the January transfer window.
That loan spell ended once the Premier League season was concluded, but reports in England have indicated that he could end up staying in the North East.
That would likely be another loan spell given finances at Newcastle are likely to be tight this summer following their failed takeover bid.
Lazaro has indicated on several occasions that his time with the Magpies would be a short one as he eyes up a future first-team place at Inter Milan.
His agent has now commented on his client, and while he doesn’t mention Newcastle, he does say that talks are underway with one club.
“With a club, we are already very far,” he told Krone.at.
“I would like to discuss all of this with Valentino after his vacation. There are interested parties. I’m talking to some clubs, but there’s no decision at this stage.
“With a club, as I said, one is very far.’”
