Newcastle United have AS Roma’s Jan Ziółkowski on their list for the summer.
Last month, Sport Witness covered claims from Poland that Newcastle United’s scouts watched the 20-year-old on several occasions.
In August 2025, the Serie A side signed the defender from Legia Warsaw for around €6m.
The centre-back played 708 minutes from 21 matches for the Italian capital club and has seen his game time dry up in recent months.
He has played 48 minutes from six league appearances since the end of January and 185 minutes this year.

Their sources state the Giallorossi have a €20-25m price and there would be a club keen. Newcastle United are the only club to get a mention.
The Polish outlet also spoke to Forza Roma journalist Federico Liuti to discuss the player’s situation at AS Roma.
He explained why Gian Piero Gasperini hasn’t utilised the Poland international regularly this season.
“Ziółkowski is still a raw talent. He can be a bit inconsistent, and Roma has to fight for a spot in the top four of Serie A, which is a demanding league,” he said.
“Gasperini simply hasn’t had many ‘easy’ matches to test different formations. He mainly played him in less important matches or when Ndicka and Mancini were unavailable.”
Goal.pl’s title say the Serie A side ‘will sacrifice’ the defender to improve their finances. When discussing this within the report, the journalist talks about Newcastle United’s interest.
“Roma needs to sell someone to make money before June 30th. With a good offer, he will be one of the players who leaves,” Liuti explained.
“€20m is a reasonable price for a defender with Ziółkowski’s potential. Especially in the Premier League, where Newcastle is interested in him.”
His future seems to be away from Roma after this season. whether the Pole will move to St James’ Park can be found out in the coming months.
Contract, value and agent info
Jan Ziółkowski’s contract expires in 2026 and his value, as per Transfermarkt, is €12m. This is the highest value of his career despite his struggles in Italy.
