Newcastle United have now been linked with a move for Cruzeiro striker Kaio Jorge, adding another Premier League club to the list of admirers.

According to a report from Gávea News, the Magpies could be preparing an offer in the region of £35m, though the player himself has stressed that he remains focused on life in Belo Horizonte.

The speculation arrives shortly after Newcastle sanctioned the sale of Alexander Isak. His replacement has already been secured with the signing of Nick Woltemade, but Kaio Jorge is seen as offering a different profile.

While Woltemade brings height and physical presence, the Brazilian’s pace and mobility make him a closer match to Isak’s style, something the club may look to complement in attack.

Kaio Jorge has been in outstanding form throughout 2025. He has scored 20 goals this season, making him the top scorer both in the league and in the domestic cup. Since joining the club, the striker has played 57 matches, producing 27 goals and eight assists.

That prolific run also earned him a call-up from Carlo Ancelotti to Brazil’s national team in the World Cup qualifiers, where he featured in September against Chile. Even so, Kaio has made it clear that his focus remains on Cruzeiro, downplaying speculation about a European transfer, as we recently covered.

With West Ham already credited with interest and Newcastle now suggested as a contender, the battle for Kaio Jorge could heat up when the January window opens.

For the time being, though, both the striker and Cruzeiro are standing firm.
