It appears that Newcastle United, while trying to move relatively carefully on the transfer market, are still eyeing up some big names if they become available.
One of those, if Sportmediaset are to be believed, relayed by FC Inter News, is Inter Milan’s Nicolò Barella.
The news comes a few days before the Champions League final, where the midfielder will be looking to find a way at stopping Manchester City from lifting the trophy.
However, if a few clubs get their way, it could be the last game he plays, as a number of Premier League sides, including Newcastle are following him ‘with attention’.
Whether that turns into a bid down the line remains to be seen, but considering his importance to Simone Inzaghi’s plans and the love he has for Inter, it will be difficult to move him on.
The Serie A side are already qualified for next year’s Champions League, just like Newcastle, meaning the only extra lure for Barella would be playing in the Premier League and perhaps a better contract at St James’ Park.
Considering teams such as Manchester United and Liverpool are also lurking, it won’t be an easy task for Eddie Howe should he be presented with a chance of talking to the star.
