As the rumours surrounding the future of Porto striker Luis Diaz continue to grow, some outlets keep trying to know if everything that’s being said is true.

Today newspaper O Jogo features a story about the 24-year-old pointing out that at the weekend, he was linked to the likes of Everton and Newcastle United, and even to a change of agents.

The Portuguese outlet then managed to speak to sources close to the player, and found out that none of those claims make much sense.

First regarding a new representative, as rumours have been saying Diaz could switch to Pini Zahavi, this source ‘denied’ that this possibility is even being considered.

Regarding the transfer stories which ‘pile up’, with o Jogo pointing out that the striker is linked Everton, Newcastle, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Roma, Bayern Munich and Sevilla, it’s said not a lot has been happening in that regard.

Despite the strong rumours about the Toffees’ efforts to sign him in the summer, this source now claims that nothing happened since the end of the transfer window, also meaning that Newcastle haven’t made any kind of move as of yet.

O Jogo recalls that Diaz is protected by the Dragons until 2024 with a release clause worth €80m.
