On Wednesday, Gazzetta dello Sport reported Juventus could receive an offer from Newcastle United for Federico Gatti. The Magpies aren’t alone as Everton are also chasing the 26-year-old.
That’s according to Tutto Juve, who say Newcastle and the Toffees have asked about the defender in ‘recent weeks’.
Everton tried to sign the centre-back last summer, but the Serie A side turned down their advances. The Turin club then tied him down to a new contract [until 2028] last October.
The Toffees have rekindled their interest in the Italy international, and will be joined by Eddie Howe’s side in the race to sign him.
Recent claims in the English press have talked about Newcastle and Everton making offers for the Juve player. Tutto Juve, who have made it clear this is their own information, dismiss that, and insist there are ‘no imminent offers’ for Gatti.
Calciomercato.it say Newcastle are one of the Premier League sides to have made contact to find out if the conditions to sign the player, but there’s no mention of Everton.
It’s further claimed Juve will evaluate Gatti’s sale this summer if there’s an offer between €25m and €30m.
