Newcastle United have Hoffenheim’s Anton Stach ‘on the list’ and have been watching him for a long-time ahead of the summer transfer window.
That’s according to SportBILD, who say the 25-year-old may be a name to keep an eye on moving forwards, particularly if Hoffenheim miss out on European football.
They explain that Stach, who is valued at €15m, could be on the move in the summer as he’s long made it clear he would like to play in the Premier League at some point.
Newcastle have been interested in the midfielder, who is described as being ‘tailor-made’ for the Premier League, ‘for a long time’ and the belief is that a move could be on the way at some point.
Whether that’s to Newcastle remains to be seen but they could certainly find themselves needing a new central midfielder in the summer with Joelinton yet to sign a new deal and Eddie Howe admitting they may be forced into a sale.
There’s also Bruno Guimaraes to consider, who is already being linked to PSG and Barcelona and would be an ideal player to sell to help Newcastle bring in money and provide more room in terms of Financial Fair Play, which has been limiting them of late.
Stach, who is a ‘dynamic, robust and strong’ six could be a target if either were to leave and he’s a name to keep an eye on in the coming months, particularly if Hoffenheim do miss out on Europe.
