Newcastle United could find themselves in the bidding for Juventus’ Federico Chiesa and are an ‘interesting lead’ for the player this summer.
That’s according to Sportmediaset, relayed by Tutto Juve, who say Newcastle are interested in him and could turn that interest into something more concrete in the coming weeks.
Chiesa has been linked with an exit from Juventus this summer as they reshape their squad for new manager Thiago Motta.
The Italian is yet to sign a new contract at the club and that has led to speculation about his future as his contract is set to expire on June 30th, 2025.
At the moment there has been no progress on a potential exit, but Sportmediaset report Newcastle may be someone to keep an eye on.
They explain that Chiesa could leave this summer as his deal expires next summer . Renewal talks between the two clubs don’t appear to be going anywhere either.
Roma have shown an interest, but Chiesa doesn’t like that option and now, according to journalist Claudio Raimondi, Newcastle could be an interesting lead to follow.
There’s no suggestion that they have made a move or anything of that nature as yet, but their interest is longstanding as they were linked throughout last summer and have been credited with an interest again this year too.
At the moment it appears to have not developed beyond interest, but it’s something to keep an eye on moving forwards, nonetheless.
