In Newcastle United’s defeat to Manchester United at the EFL Cup final last weekend, something that drew the foreign media’s attention was the appearance of Lloris Karius.
The goalkeeper was back on playing on a big stage, and despite the loss, still managed to make a couple of good saves there.
It turns out that as FC Inter News today writes about the potential substitutes for Samir Handanovic at Inter Milan, the Newcastle player gets mentioned in that list.
The outlet writes that Karius is an ‘hypothesis born in recent weeks’, and he’d actually have a good reason to push for a move to Italy, which would be his relationship with Diletta Leotta.
Still, it’s not guaranteed that Inter Milan could have him easily, since it’s said Karius is ‘doing well’ at Newcastle and his contract ‘would be renewed’.
So as the Nerazzurri look for a replacement for Handanovic, the Magpies’ player will be one of those to watch carefully until the summer window opens.
Something that should have a big part in that will be the way Newcastle treat Karius now that he was given a chance to prove himself.
