OGC Nice forward Alexandre Mendy didn’t really enjoy sufficient playing time at the Ligue 1 club this season, despite that he is attracting interest from few big clubs in Europe.
According to French daily L’Equipe, Newcastle and Bristol are interested in signing Mendy, and have already contacted Nice.
Mendy, however, wishes to join Guingamp, who have also conducted negotiations with Nice for the player.
The French striker has six goals to his name this season in just over 600 minutes of football, and it seems Newcastle are again keen on signing players from Ligue 1.
Newcastle and Bristol will has some convincing to do, if they want to sign the 22-year, or switch to other alternatives.
The Magpies have also been linked to young Tenerife striker Nano, and it’s unclear, if they’d want to sign both of them.
