Newcastle United have entered the race for AIK star Zadok Yohanna, with a €24m bid now on the table.
Expressen report that Newcastle have stepped up their interest in the 18-year-old and are battling Brighton for his signature.
Newcastle rival Brighton
Sport Witness covered a report this week that stated Brighton had made their move for the winger. They were said to have made a ‘monster bid’ for the youngster.
Now Newcastle have entered the picture. According to Expressen’s information, the Magpies have made a bid of €24m plus bonuses for Yohanna.
Negotiations are now underway between the clubs over a potential transfer. Sources have confirmed to Expressen that Brighton are still in the picture too. They are very much competing with Newcastle for the winger.
French side Rennes are also in the picture, as are an unnamed Premier League club. How the situation develops from there, remains to be seen. But AIK now have ‘two monster bids’ on the table and a decision to make.
At the current price being offered, Yohana would break the current Allsvenskan record sale. Lucas Bergvall currently holds that record following his €20m move to Tottenham in 2024.
Breakout season
The interest from Brighton and Newcastle comes after Zadok Yohanna enjoyed a 2026 season that has been nothing short of spectacular. He’s transformed from a promising prospect into a focal point of AIK’s attack.
March was seen as his real big moment, with a brace against BK Häcken in a 4-0 followed by another crucial goal against GAIS in the quarter finals of the Svenska Cupen.
He also marked his debut in the Allsvenskan in April with a sensational solo winning goal in a win over Halmstads BK. He’s currently on five goal involvements in seven league games, a further demonstration of his impressive talent.
Now Brighton and Newcastle are battling for his signature in what is set to be a record sale for the Swedish top flight.
