Often linked with Newcastle United, Sergej Milinković-Savić isn’t the only midfielder in Serie A that Eddie Howe has his eye on.
That’s because there’s also Piotr Zielinski, who was a target for West Ham last summer, currently one of the key assets for Luciano Spalletti at Napoli.
The Poland international’s contract with the Italian club ends in 2024, which is why there’s talk of a renewal, but Newcastle are lurking and more, according to Il Mattino, relayed by Spazio Napoli.
Napoli are hoping to tie down their midfielder for an extra three years, spreading his big wages over that time to help with their finances, but ‘it all depends on the offers’ that he will get from elsewhere.
In fact, they immediately point out that the Premier League is ‘very attractive to him’, where Newcastle ‘have already made the first moves’.
It’s also added the Magpies aren’t the only ones, but Il Mattino do not go any further, naming only Eddie Howe’s side.
The 28-year-old has excelled this season, scoring seven goals and assisting another 10 in 41 appearances in all competitions under Spalletti.
