Newcastle United have not lost track of Porto star Pepê, according to reports from Brazil.
Outlet IG writes that the Magpies are ‘keeping an interest and monitoring’ the player’s situation at the Dragons.
It’s recalled that last summer, Newcastle had already made an attempt to sign Pepê, with the English media claiming there was an offer worth €35m.
IG writes that the Magpies now watch his situation and ‘could advance’ for his signing.
It’s also pointed out that the player draws the chase from other Premier League sides as well.
Newcastle’s most recent pursuit for Pepê isn’t only reported by the Brazilian media, as, last week, it was the Portuguese press who claimed Porto were expecting an attempt from the English side for the player.
The funny thing is that the 25-year-old isn’t having his best time at Porto, as he was recently benched in a few games.
It’s also not very clear in which position Newcastle see him playing, since he’s been featuring for the Dragons as a winger, a midfielder and even as a right-back many times.
