Monza are eyeing a move for Celtic star Josip Juranovic following his impressive performances at the World Cup.
That’s according to Tuttomercatoweb, who say the player, currently managed by Ange Postecoglou, is ‘one of the most sought-after players in Europe’.
They report that the right-back has ‘half of Europe’ chasing him at this point, with the small Italian club now ready to challenge some big teams to sign the Celtic defender.
Chelsea ‘like him’ and would ‘ready to take him’ to use him as an alternative to Reece James, who is facing another spell on the sidelines after picking up an injury on his recent return.
Meanwhile he is also ‘in the crosshairs’ of Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag, who failed to sign a right-back in the summer transfer window despite that being identified as a problem area in the squad.
The Premier League duo face intense competition for his signature, though, with the big names in Spain also ‘keen on him’. Torino have also made a ‘concrete enquiry’ while Espanyol have made a ‘concrete offer’.
Monza can also be added to that list as they are ‘swooping in on the player’ who they consider a ‘dream’ player for the right-back position.
They are seen as the ‘new player at the table’ and would like to take him to Italy in January, having already gone as far as ‘sounding out’ the Celtic man to see if he would be interested and they can pull off a ‘knockout blow’ to the market.
The big players, then, may need to move quickly, with Juranovic in flavour and plenty of clubs ready to sign him next month.
