The battle for one of Liverpool’s reported targets, Brazilian striker Luan from Gremio, continues.
His agent confirmed in recent days Luan is very close to a move to Spartak Moscow, but they are still waiting on the Brazilian club accepting an offer.
Yesterday, Russian sports daily Sport Express, citing ESPN, reported an official offer has been made for Luan, and Spartak are willing to pay €20m for 70% of the players rights. As far as it looks, they will not have to face any opposition from Liverpool to land the Brazil international
According to Sport Express, Gremio are thinking over the bid, but they have not delivered their answer yet, and even if they agree, Spartak will have to deal with the third party, who own the other 30% of Luan.
Liverpool have been linked with a move for Luan in this window after the player impressed for club and country. However, we reported via sources there wasn’t any serious interest from the Premier League side, and that an offer hadn’t come in from Liverpool.
Luan has become one of the hottest properties in Brazil, scoring 13 goals and providing 5 assists in 21 games this season.
