UD Las Palmas are keen on taking Rafa Mújica on loan from Leeds United.

Multiple reports on Friday explained the striker, who is currently on loan at Real Oviedo, has reached an agreement with Las Palmas.

La Nueva España even stated Marcelo Bielsa’s side have given the 22-year-old their approval to join the second division Spanish side.

Mújica is waiting for a ‘green light’ from Pepe Mel’s side and that would only come after Pietro Iemmello is allowed to leave Las Palmas in the winter market. This was confirmed by the former West Bromwich Albion manager when asked about the Spaniard.

“I am not talking about the players who are not here. To this day, no one enters or leaves. I don’t know how the situation is with that footballer who now belongs to Oviedo,” Mel was quoted as saying by AS.

“So far no one has left, and the president was already quite explicit: without exits there will be no entries. It would not be coherent to sign anyone without anyone having left before. And less now with such an extensive squad and one game a week.”

According to Marca, Iemmello has reached an agreement with the Segunda División club to terminate his loan stay so the Benevento player can join Serie B side Frosinone on loan.

Iemmello’s exit ‘opens the door’ for Mújica as the former’s departure frees up the budget to bring in the Leeds man on a temporary deal. The Leeds striker’s arrival can be ‘finalised’ and he is set to take No.9 shirt from the Italian at Las Palmas.

Galicia Press are also reporting Mújica will leave Real Oviedo and will wear Las Palmas’ shirt ‘shortly’, meaning the deal will be completed soon.
