It wouldn’t be a day of the week ending in ‘y’ if there wasn’t an update on the Carlos Bacca situation in the Italian press, but thankfully everything is normal and there is, so you can rest easy.
The situation remains essentially the same, except that for the 45th time in the past 60 days (very vague estimate, don’t hold us to it), we have a new deadline for you to look forward to.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Wednesday was meant to be the day Bacca gave West Ham his answer regarding a move to the London Stadium for next season, but, you see, he can’t be rushed here.
With this in mind, the Italian newspaper now say the deadline has been pushed back to Friday because everyone is really nice and wants the move to happen, while the Colombian sits at home hoping for a Champions League club to come and sweep him off his feet.
This has been the narrative all summer regarding this transfer, and at this stage, we really wouldn’t be surprised if nothing came of it at all.
We’ll see you Friday, then (but most likely tomorrow because Thursday ends in a ‘y’ too).
