Earlier on Monday, we covered what Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere dello Sport had on the deal that would see Romelu Lukaku leave Chelsea for Juventus and Dusan Vlahovic head the other way.
Money would be put on top of the Belgian to meet the valuation of the Serbian, who is younger and is far more of an investment than the Blues striker, and that was where the sticking point was.
Sport Mediaset in Italy have an update on Monday afternoon, where it’s claimed that ‘new contacts’ between Chelsea and their Serie A counterparts are going to take place to get the famous ‘white smoke’ over the line.
The outlet explain that the communications channel between London and Turin axis is ‘heating up’, and ‘the next few hours in particular could be decisive’.
Chelsea and Juventus ‘will talk again’ to try and get a transfer over the line, after Mauricio Pochettino and the London side as a whole agreed that bringing in Vlahovic could work.
However, Cristiano Giuntoli continues to push for €40m to be included alongside Lukaku, while Chelsea have so far ‘not gone beyond €30m’.
That’s why the belief is that an agreement could be ‘half way there’, meaning that €35m could do the trick.
