Appointing Lee Congerton to deal with transfer business going forward, it’s only natural to see Atalanta cast their eye on the Premier League to potentially bolster their squad.

The latest name to be linked with the Serie A side is Chelsea’s Armando Broja, courtesy of Gazzetta dello Sport on Friday.

With one of either Luis Muriel and Duvan Zapata potentially leaving this summer, someone would have to come in as a replacement.

This is where the Slough-born Albania international comes in, as the Serie A side are ‘monitoring’ the 20-year-old with a ‘Tammy Abraham-style operation’ in mind.

Atalanta are said to have ‘excellent relations’ with Chelsea, having dealt with the Blues for the likes of Mario Pasalic and Davide Zappacosta in the past.

It’s pointed out that Atalanta have been looking at Broja ‘since Chelsea sent him on loan to the Eredivisie, to Vitesse’, believing he has ‘excellent growth margins’.

This is something many clubs, including Napoli, have also thought, but it appears there could be a small competition for the Albania international, which might not be something the Blues are against.

A lot will, however, depend on what Thomas Tuchel has planned for the striker going forward.
