On Monday, Chelsea announced Bruce Buck will step down as the club’s chairman at the end of this month.

Buck is unlikely to be last high-profile exit after new owners arrived at Stamford Bridge. Reports in the UK have insisted Blues director, Marina Granovskaia, is also set to leave the west London club.

It was also explained the Chelsea’s new ‘co-controlling’ owner, Todd Boehly, could take charge of the club’s day-to-day operations.

AS on Tuesday have relayed these claims and then state Granovskaia’s impending departure means the beginning of a new cycle at Chelsea, who would need to find her replacement. That could be Atlético Madrid sporting director, Andrea Berta.

It’s claimed the Italian is ‘not very comfortable’ at the Spanish capital club and therefore, a new adventure in London, at Chelsea, is ‘not considered as complicated’ for him.

Former Blues goalkeeper Petr Čech currently has a role in the club’s sporting decisions.

AS go on to add his future, to a lesser extent, needs to be clarified in the coming weeks. This could also play a role in Berta’s decision to possibly leave Los Rojiblancos for Chelsea.

For now, Atlético continue to count on Berta, who is working on shaping their squad for next season.
