Sunday saw Liverpool, and specifically Anfield, say goodbye to Jurgen Klopp. It was an emotional occasion for all involved, and Klopp’s words afterwards made it clear the manager has been left exhausted by his time with the Reds.
Klopp said he’d be on vacation from today, and will likely make the most of his free time. There’s been no indication when he’ll return to football management, and there’s even been some worry in the German media that he may not do so at all.
There’s big shoes to fill at Anfield and it’s Arne Slot’s job to do so. An agreement has been in place between Liverpool and Feyenoord for a while, but the announcement has been delayed. That was likely to allow Klopp to have that big goodbye without Slot looming so much over it.
Excellent Feyenoord source 1908.nl now report that the Slot announcement is set to be made today, and then everyone can move on with their roles ahead of the summer window.
They give no indication of the time, just that it’s coming very soon.
