Sunday morning saw odds shorten drastically on Alfred Schreuder becoming Leeds United’s next manager.
Having shown the door to Jesse Marsch, the Whites have been going through a number of options for the position. Claims from South America stated Leeds had made contact with Marcelo Gallardo weeks ago, but he doesn’t want to rush back into management after River Plate.
There was also an effort for Andoni Iraola, but Rayo Vallecano aren’t keen for him to go midway through the season. The same can be said about Arne Slot at Feyenoord.
Schreuder looks to be the latest candidate, and the situation appears to be progressing.
After claims from England that the former Ajax manager is at today’s match between Leeds United and Manchester United, there’s a little more on that from the Netherlands.
De Telegraaf report the Dutchman is indeed there at Elland Road today, and he’s been joined by his agent Milos Malenovic.
The Dutch newspaper point out the agent also represents Ajax’s Dusan Tadic, but there’s no suggestion he’s got anything to do with this situation.
