The Italian media today shares some news on Daiogo Dalot’s contract renewal with Manchester United.
According to Calciomercato.it, there are ‘negotiations underway’ between the Red Devils and the player’s entourage for an extension.
The report claims that Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag sees Dalot as a ‘permanent starter’ and will work to keep him in the squad.
Dalot’s stay at Old Trafford is a bit of a blow for Inter Milan, since they know they could sell Denzel Dumfries in the summer and had the Portuguese fullback as an option to replace him.
Still, Calciomercato.it says there had been no movements for that signing yet, even though ‘nothing is to be ruled out’
Diogo Dalot has 30 appearances for Manchester United this season, being Erik ten Hag’s first choice for the right-back position, despite the competition with Aaron Wan-Bissaka for a place in the starting line-up.
The Portuguese’s contract with the Red Devils expires in 2024, and not to lose the risk of losing him for free by then, it’s natural to see the club hurrying up with the renewal before the summer.
