Arnaut Danjuma’s agent, Michael Moses, has confirmed his client is in talks about a move away from Villarreal amid links to Everton.
That’s according to Cadena SER, who say Danjuma is ‘looking for a way out’ of the Spanish side this month and talking to various English sides.
Reports over the last week have linked the Dutch forward with Everton and Bournemouth, although the former are now pushing for Lorient’s Dango Ouattara.
That could have left Everton free to get Danjuma and a report today stated that they had shown the most interest in him.
That included claims the player was in England with his agent to talk about a potential move and Cadena SER confirm as much.
They say Danjuma is ‘looking for a way out’ of Villarreal before the end of this month and is in England with his agent, Michael Moses, ‘in search of a good offer’.
He ‘wants to leave’ and wanted to leave in the summer as well, but no offer arrived at that point and it is a similar situation now.
While the club are ‘making it easier’ for him to leave they don’t intend to grant him a cheap exit and intend to recover a large part of the €20m they paid to sign him from Bournemouth in 2021, which a similar report in Spain today stated the same.
So far Everton are yet to offer anything, with it stated that several English clubs have shown interest in acquiring the player but are yet to put a proposal on the table.
The interested parties are yet to even propose a loan deal with an option to buy and the lack of anything formal makes it difficult for Villarreal to sort an exit.
Talks are underway, though, with Moses telling Cadena that “negotiations are ongoing” but “nothing has been decided” at this point.
Danjuma is now set to return to training on Wednesday to start preparations for the clash with Real Madrid, his future still in the air.
