Galatasaray have opened negotiations with Aston Villa over a move for Trezeguet this month, with the player out of favour at Villa Park.
That’s according to Fanatik, who say the player is once again on the ‘agenda’ at the Turkish club after being linked in the past.
The website explains that there are ‘hot developments’ regarding the Aston Villa man, who joined them from Kasimpasa in a €10m deal in 2019.
He’s made 64 appearances for Villa since then but has just two appearances to his name this season, a ten-minute appearance in the Premier League and a sixty-minute showing in Premier League 2.
He’s very much on the fringes of Steven Gerrard’s squad, and Galatasaray want to take advantage of that to sign him in the January transfer window.
Fanatik state that ‘negotiations were started’ with Aston Villa over a deal but they don’t make it clear if those talks are over a loan deal or a permanent transfer.
They do, however, make it clear that the Yellow-Red’s administration are trying to ‘raise funds’ to make a transfer happen, suggesting this will not be a deal that happens imminently.
Negotiations are underway with Aston Villa nonetheless and the Egyptian could be on his way out of Villa Park before the end of the month if Galatasaray can find the funds to make it happen.
