One name is emerging above the rest for Manchester United in their quest to sign a star forward in the summer transfer window – and that’s Matheus Cunha.
The Wolverhampton Wanderers star has been extensively linked with an Old Trafford switch. OL reported last week that the Red Devils recently inquired about the attacker.
Goal Brasil stated three days ago that Cunha will “swap Wolverhampton for Manchester United.”
On Friday, another Brazilian outlet, this time Globo, reported that significant progress had been made between the player and the club.
On Sunday, the same outlet has said that the Premier League giants are now willing to pay Cunha’s £62m release clause and that “negotiations are in the final stages.”
Ruben Amorim has remained publicly buoyant about United’s chances of signing star names in the forthcoming window despite how poorly the club has done in the Premier League.
“Everybody wants to play for Manchester United,” he recently told reporters.
Cunha has been in sensational form this season, with 23 goal contributions in 32 matches across all competitions for Wolves so far.
Amorim will be desperate to add a sure-fire goalscorer to his squad for next season, with strikers Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee failing in that regard tremendously this term.
