Cheikh Niasse was a regular for Hellas Verona across the last two seasons and could be in line for a move to Norwich City.
In the 2025/26 campaign, he featured 20 times for Hellas Verona. He didn’t end the season well but the midfielder was a regular at the turn of the year and until February.
He joined the Italian side from Young Boys in January 2025. After that, he featured 11 times in Serie A, becoming a regular in the heart of the park.
The 26-year-old is on his way out, with Verona having finished 19th in the table.
Norwich City are attempting a summer deal, and have a good chance.
Talks ongoing
Alfredo Pedulla reports that even if Niasse has a long-term contract with the Gialloblu, he is likely to leave.
While two or three clubs have stepped forward for him, Norwich City are tightening their grip and ‘negotiations have begun’. Talks have been held between the two clubs.
Discussions are expected to continue, with both parties trying to find an agreement.
Verona paid €3.5m to sign the player from Young Boys. As his current deal runs out in 2029, the Italian side are likely to aim for a capital gain and a permanent departure.
Verona would like a sale
Over the past few years, Verona have always managed to sell on their players for a capital gain. They did it for Jackson Tchatchoua last summer, selling Cyril Ngone and Tijjani Noslin to bigger clubs in the last two seasons too.
Compared to those players, Niasse is younger. This could present their best time to sell the midfielder and perhaps create an auction in the market.
The information from Pedulla likely comes from Niasse’s entourage. It shows his interest in a move to Carrow Road, where he can aim for promotion to the top-flight next season.
