Mathys Tel’s Tottenham Hotspur career is on the line after he was left out of the club’s Champions League squad. The player’s camp have seemingly spent weeks sending out leaks regarding a transfer.
The 20-year-old joined Spurs in the summer after an initial loan from Bayern Munich. He’s had less than 800 minutes so far which is a drop from his prominence for Tottenham last season.
Tel has failed to get regular games under Thomas Frank this season, leading to reports yesterday he could be looking to find a new club.
The Frenchman is unhappy with his situation in London and wants a move during this transfer window. Tel’s agent has met with Tottenham officials and it seems the only way this could be solved was if Frank stepped down and the new manager suddenly became a huge fan of the player.
Milliyet report Fenerbahçe are working to give Tel the opportunity to escape his problems at Tottenham, and are in talks over a deal.
Fener are making attempts to sign Tel, with a potential move on the basis of a loan with an option to buy.
Tottenham could accept offer

Due to the friction between Tel and Frank, Spurs could accept the Yellow Canaries proposal. This would see the attacker heading to Istanbul for the remainder of the season.
The Super Lig club are in the market for a forward. There’s uncertainty around Youssef En-Nesyri, who has been linked with Everton and Nottingham Forest.
Napoli and Juventus have also come in for the Morocco international and a transfer to Serie A looks likelier.
Tel has made just six Premier League starts this season and may need to move to get regular playing time. He’s contracted to Tottenham until June 2031, but is clearly uncomfortable at the club right now.
