Coventry City‘s Norman Bassette can leave the Premier League side again on loan this summer.
The striker moved to England from SM Caen in August 2024, when the Sky Blues were in the Championship.
He failed to impress in his debut season at Coventry City, with two goals and an assist in 1097 minutes from 28 matches.
Last summer, Frank Lampard’s side let the 21-year-old join Stade Reims on loan. He didn’t get more game time and hardly impressed [two goals from 12 matches] when given opportunities.
Therefore, the English club cut short his stay in France and sent him on loan to 1. FC Kaiserslautern in January. He featured regularly, managing two goals and two assists.
What next for Coventry City man
Norman Bassette will return to Coventry City, who have secured promotion to the Premier League.
Frank Lampard is likely to leave him out of his plans this season and the frontman will be on the move again this summer. That’s according to Het Nieuwsblad, who claim KVC Westerlo want to bring him back to Belgium.
The Jupiler Pro League side saw striker Nacho Ferri move to Feyenoord and are looking for his successor. This is where the Coventry City man comes into the picture.
Westerlo’s plan to sign Coventry City player
The frontman is seeking a ‘new lease of life’ after two disappointing loan spells, and the Belgian club are an option.
The newspaper reports KVC Westerlo are ready to welcome him on loan with a purchase option and talks are ongoing with Coventry City.
In fact, the negotiations are ‘moving in the right direction’, however, the clubs are yet to find an agreement.
