Following previous reports that AC Milan are interested in Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Corriere dello Sport in Italy bring the latest on the situation on Thursday.
The midfielder appears to be one of the sacrificial lambs at Stamford Bridge this summer following Todd Boehly’s spending spree since purchasing the club, and the Serie A side are keen.
This interest was reportedly reciprocated by the Chelsea player himself, and there are now talks going on to try and make it happen.
They say Milan like him a ‘lot’, and there is an ‘ongoing dialogue between the two clubs’, and the ‘negotiation has started’.
However, that doesn’t mean a transfer is close, because it will be necessary to ‘find the right balance’, as the Italians ‘would like to spend less than €20m’, taking into account that Loftus-Cheek’s contract expires next season.
Down their end, Chelsea are hoping to make a bit more than that, and want to monetise a transfer at ‘higher figures’.
Something to keep an eye on, but there’s no denying the two clubs have a good relationship, having previously struck deals for the likes of Fikayo Tomori, Olivier Giroud and Tiemoué Bakayoko.
