Even though there’s some confidence in Latin America that the players will be able to travel for the upcoming international break, the Mexican media still raises some doubts about Raul Jimenez.

The striker wasn’t released by Wolves to play the last national team games, and this time, the local media fear that it’s the player himself who may not want to fly for the matches.

This possibility had already been mentioned earlier this month, and is once again brought in a story by ESPN today.

With Jimenez scoring his first goal after the recovery from his head injury, the striker received huge attention from the Mexican media this week, who now urge him to join the Tri squad.

“We should know what Raúl thinks about it, but I’m sure he dreams of putting on the tricolor shirt again,” writes ESPN’s Jesus Humberto Lopez.

“For him, it will be a new personal victory after the terrible injury suffered. He would also be supported by the fans that eagerly await him with open arms to pay him and give him the recognition, tribute and affection he deserves. This would be a medicine not prescribed by a doctor, but recommended by those who know that the caresses of the soul heal everything.”

“We need him. There is no doubt about it. And although, after the first round of matches, Mexico leads the CONCACAF octagonal final undefeated towards Qatar 2022 with 7 points, two above Canada, the United States and Panama, we cannot afford not to have a prodigal son from Tepeji del Río de Ocampo, Hidalgo state, when after a long time, we finally have him back on the pitches and recently recovered from his romance with the goal”.

In the upcoming international break, Mexico have matches against Canada, Honduras and El Salvador.

As reported by the Argentine media this week, players are expected to have a five-day quarantine when returning to England.
