Serbia got themselves an important, and deserved, last minute equaliser against Wales in Cardiff on Saturday. For the Serbians, Southampton’s Dusan Tadic continued his good form, but he also took a heavy blow to the face.
Swansea City’s Neil Taylor caught Tadic in the face with a high boot, and the defender may have been lucky to stay on the pitch given that red cards have been shown for less dangerous high feet.
Immediately, the Southampton player was covered in blood, and it was clear there was a potential nose break. After the match, Serbia’s manager Slavoljub Muslin said he has no doubt it’s a break.
Muslian is quoted by Serbia’s RTS saying: “I hope for his club that it is not a big deal because he is in good form. He broke his nose, for sure, but we do not know whether he will have to undergo surgery.”
Southampton probably need to get on the telephone to the company which makes protective masks for Premier League footballers, because even if Tadic is cleared to play the next match, he’ll likely need some extra protection.
