The Italian media is increasingly happy that Nicolo Zaniolo has been doing well at Aston Villa, turning their back on all the doubt they sent his way and largely pretending that didn’t happen.
As TVPlay writes about the midfielder’s form, they feature a headline saying there’s now a ‘rebirth’ of the player under Unai Emery.
The Aston Villa coach is dubbed ‘wise and experienced’, and gets big credit for ‘enhancing the qualities’ that Zaniolo always had.
Highlighting that the midfielder has become a ‘favourite’ among fans, they point out the great match he had against Chelsea at the weekend.
The reason the Italian media is happy about it is that Zaniolo, unlike in the past few months, is now thought to be ready to help the national team.
It’s said Luciano Spalleti ‘never stopped considering’ the 24-year-old to be a key piece in the team, and is now thinking of using him as a false nine in the upcoming matches.
There’s big expectation about how Zaniolo can perform in that position, with TVPlay already building Italy’s attack with him between Domenico Berardi and Federico Chiesa.
Zaniolo may not be doing such a job at Aston Villa, but there’s confidence he’ll perform well in that role.
This praise being sent towards Emery is similar to what is happening with the Colombia media and Jhon Duran.
