With Tottenham Hotspur star Richarlison never hiding his love for the national team, he once again made it clear that they’re his priority.
The quotes come from Globo Esporte, and his statement was made during the press conference he held today.
Richarlison started by revealing that Brazil’s new manager Dorival Junior recently visited Tottenham’s facilities and spoke to Ange Postecoglou. He even claimed that both teams are set to play in a similar way.
“He’s been to Tottenham’s training centre, he’s seen the structure there, he’s talked to our coach. Dorival’s style of play and that of our manager are similar, an aggressive style, and he liked it a lot. This closeness with players from here, from Europe, also gives us confidence.”
Then Richarlison talked about his private conversation with Dorival Junior, where he claimed that playing for Brazil is always top of the list for him.
“He came and talked to us eye to eye, and I told him that the national team comes first for me. It’s God in heaven and the national team on earth. I passed on that confidence to him. It’s the start of a new cycle, it’s great to be at this beginning, I hope we can build a winning team.”
Earlier today, we also covered some quotes from Richarlison where he talked about his mental health, claiming he had big help from psychiatrists, and is now ready to make a comeback to the national team.
Brazil are playing England and Spain in a couple of friendlies during the preparation for Copa America. We’ll see if they look anything like Tottenham at Wembley on Saturday.
Tottenham are back in action on April 2nd, in a Premier League clash against West Ham United.
