It seems it will take a while for Brazil to decide whether Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson will go to Copa America.
With a facial injury picked up in the game against Tottenham Hotspur this week, the player has been ruled out of the Citizens’ final matches of the season.
Now while there’s some expectation whether he’ll be fit for the continental tournament, UOL shares an update on the situation.
It’s said Brazil are monitoring the scenario and being careful about possibly excluding Ederson from the squad.
UOL claims there’s actually certain optimism that they’ll have the Manchester City player available, as despite gathering the squad on May 28, their first game in the tournament is only taking place on June 24.
The national teams are also allowed to replace players due to injury until the start of the tournament, so there’s ‘no hurry’ to take a decision about that.
Meanwhile, Manchester City are expected to miss Ederson in the Premier League’s final match against West Ham United, as well as in the FA Cup final versus Manchester United.
