Brazil manager Dorival Junior has some bad news for Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brighton & Hove Albion fans.
The coach is currently in England, where he’s been watching games and visiting clubs to speak to players and managers.
TNT Sports today held an interview with him, and even though that’s not out yet, reporter Fred Caldeira comes up on Twitter to share some things Dorival Junior said.
There, the manager claimed that Wolves’ Matheus Cunha and Brighton’s João Pedro are not options for the friendlies against England and Spain, which take place at the end of March.
He claimed that since both players are injured, he’ll have to look for other options for Brazil’s attack.
João Pedro, who has 19 goals and two assists in 32 games for Brighton this season, has a muscle injury, and the Seagulls last said he’d be out for a couple of weeks. Now it seems the problem may be bigger than that.
Cunha, meanwhile, wasn’t given a return date by Wolves. He has a hamstring issue, and with 11 goals and seven assists this season, he was a big candidate to be one of Brazil’s centre-forwards in the upcoming games.
