Christian Eriksen’s contract at Tottenham Hotspur will run out in 2020.
Over the past few months, the Denmark international has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid and his contract situation has improved Los Blancos’ chances of securing his services in the summer transfer window.
Denmark coach Åge Hareide has (again) been asked about the rumours linking Eriksen with the 13-time European champions.
Tipsbladet have gathered Hareide’s comments, and whilst he believes it could be good for the player’s status, he didn’t hype a transfer.
“Michael Laudrup became an icon after playing in both clubs down there (Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, ed.), And Christian is perhaps an icon already. It will be good PR, but Tottenham is in the Champions League final. It’s not Real Madrid,” he said.
“There are some who ask me about a club change, but if they want to work it out themselves, I don’t interfere.”
Three days ago, El Chiringuito reported that Real Madrid are planning to sign Eriksen after Tottenham’s Champions League final clash against Liverpool on June 1st.
Earlier today, Mauricio Pochettino stressed his side’s wish is to renew the player’s contract.
