Jhon Jader Duran’s goal in Aston Villa’s win over Crystal Palace this weekend is being highlighted by the Colombian media.
The reason for that is the national team, and the lack of playing time the striker had in the last international break.
Marca Colombia today feature a story recalling that Colombia only scored one goal in two matches, as they beat Venezuela 1-0 and drew 0-0 against Chile.
That was proof that their attack hasn’t been doing great, and now their strikers show a different form for their clubs. That’s the case of Aston Villa’s Duran.
The story points out the youngster only had 47 minutes for Colombia in those two games, and as soon as he returned to England, he scored a beautiful goal against Crystal Palace.
So as manager Nestor Lorenzo ‘did not trust’ the Aston Villa player and some other attackers who didn’t get a chance to play, they’ve now proven their skills at their respective clubs.
Now in the next international break, the local media will surely be expecting some changes, and that includes Duran being added to the starting team.
