Napoli are confident about a summer move for West Ham United star Crysencio Summerville and are exploring how to make the transfer happen.
That’s according to journalist Ada Cotugno, speaking on Radio Napoli Centrale today. Area Napoli have relayed her comments.
The website explains that Napoli are already working on next summer’s transfer window, targeting several players around Europe. Sporting director Giovanni Manna is particularly keen on the Premier League.
One of those he has his eye on, according to Cotugno, is Summerville. He’s been the star of the show for the Hammers in recent months, shining under Nuno Espirito Santo as the Hammers look to avoid relegation.
Napoli attention
According to Cotugno, Napoli have taken notice, and officials are already working to structure a transfer.
“Napoli is one of the teams most convinced of the boy, Manna has already made moves to see if the deal is possible,” he said.
“We’re talking about a €30 million fee. I see him as suitable for Serie A.”
The big question is whether that €30m fee is realistic. At first glance, that does not appear to be the case, given that West Ham paid that fee to sign him from Leeds in 2024.
€30m seems low
They’re only just seeing a return on that investment now. They would surely be reluctant to let him go for the exact same price.
That’s particularly the case given he’s valued at €30m by Transfermarkt at this point, and those values are usually on the low side. That’s only going to increase if he continues to impress between now and the end of the season.
Of course, that can always change should West Ham be relegated this season. In that eventuality, that will surely mean big sales are on the way at the London Stadium. Summerville would certainly be a target for plenty of clubs in that scenario.
Napoli look likely to be among them, with the club already making behind‑the‑scenes moves to set up a potential deal.
Ronald Koeman has made it clear in recent days that the West Ham player is close to his Netherlands debut, and that would certainly send the price higher.
