Napoli are looking around Europe for a third goalkeeper, because having Alex Meret (albeit injured for now) and Orestis Karnezis isn’t enough, apparently.
Their priority for the spot is Standard Liege’s Guillermo Ochoa, but the Serie A side are struggling to get a deal together, so they’re looking at other options.
Among the list of potential candidates is Michel Vorm, according to Corriere dello Sport, who is currently playing back up to Hugo Lloris at Tottenham.
The Dutch goalkeeper has been in this position for the past four years, and while the cheques keep landing in his bank account at Spurs doing very little, Napoli could offer him more game time.
The competition isn’t as strong as trying to displace a world champion and the club’s captain, but, once again, there will be financial hurdles.
It’s between him and Simon Mignolet, and it might make more sense for the Belgian to make the move instead, as he’s in a three way battle at Anfield.
Either way, Vorm is an option.
