Simone Zaza or Aleksandar Mitrovic? Mitrovic or Zaza?
These are the important questions being asked by Corriere dello Sport on Tuesday as they look at, as they do everyday, Napoli’s options in replacing Arkadiusz Milik while he’s injured.
The rest of the Italian media, if they’re anything to go by, are 100% certain the number one target for the Serie A outfit is West Ham’s Simone Zaza, but not Corriere.
No, the Italian daily still reckon that if Napoli could have it entirely their way, their number one choice would be Newcastle United’s Aleksandar Mitrovic.
The problem for Angelo De Laurentiis and co. is that, unlike Simone Zaza, the Serbian striker is actually scoring goals, meaning Newcastle are anything but willing to see him leave.
Corriere, in fact, explain that Napoli have already sent out a few feelers to see where the Championship club stand on a transfer, and it’s not been too positive.
Mitrovic’s advantage over other targets happens to be his already prolific career, considering he’s only 22, but that is also playing against them, as Newcastle know they hold a special talent, when he behaves himself.
Zaza it is, then.
