Earlier today, we covered claims made by Marca and Deportes Cuatro, and both explained that Real Madrid star Raphaël Varane’s move to Manchester United is ‘imminent’.

Since then, there have been different outlets providing a positive stance on the Red Devils’ efforts to sign the defender.

According to AS, the two sides ‘resumed negotiations’ for the 28-year-old’s transfer and the talks have been positive.

It’s said the ‘agreement is practically closed’ and only minor issues need to be resolved, such as ‘form of payment’.

After holding face-to-face talks with Carlo Ancelotti, the centre-back realised the La Liga side were not planning to submit an improved contract offer. Hence, he ‘called on United’ to carry out his signing.

AS add that after having rejected the Red Devils’ initial offer worth €45m, Real Madrid and United are now ‘very close to closing’ the deal for Varane’s transfer at €50m.

Moving on to El Espanol, they explain the Spanish giants and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side ‘accelerate’ the operation so that the France international can move to United, if not today, then later this week, when the fringes of the deal are sorted out.

As per the report, the two clubs are ‘very close to reaching an agreement’ for a fee between €50-55m, and the former Lens man will earn €12n net annually in Manchester.

It was the World Cup winner who has decided to end his time at the Bernabéu rather than the club looking to cut ties with him. Los Blancos have managed the operation ‘calmly’ and weren’t willing to let their demands go below €50m.

Varane, for his part, is ‘already waiting for his signing to close’ with the Premier League side.

Meanwhile, MadridistaReal, when bringing a positive update, have gone ahead to report the agreement between the two clubs have been ‘practically closed’.

Several positive reports coming out of Spain bring a positive slant and the same is echoed in the British press. Therefore, things are looking good for Varane to Manchester United.
