Everton aren’t going through the best time right now, on or off the pitch. And now there’s claims Chelsea are trying to sign Amadou Onana before the end of the month.
In the relegation zone, the club parted ways with Frank Lampard earlier this week, but didn’t get around to officially telling their fans until hours after the sacking had been reported around the world.
There’s nothing to suggest Everton had anyone lined up to replace Lampard, and now it’s a case of them trying to find the best option out there.
They’ve also had issues signing players this month, with Goodison Park not a very attractive option right now, especially considering the club is manager-less.
On top of that, there’s the rumours about Amadou Onana. Foot Mercato report Chelsea have ‘much more than interest’ in the midfielder and have even made an offer to the player.
However, the stance right now is that he’s knocked it back, despite talks over a potential transfer.
Everton will hope that remains the case, because losing Onana this month would be another big blow.
