Despite only being 21 years of age, Manchester City’s Jérémy Doku is already a player many youngsters in Belgium look up to due to his meteoric rise in football.
A very exciting prospect at Anderlecht, the winger then managed to confirm that potential a bit at Rennes, before Pep Guardiola’s side spent €60m on him last summer.
He has gone up another level under the Spaniard at Manchester City, making headlines around the world with his dribbling ability and speed, which is why players such as Julien Duranville, speaking to DH, admire him.
The Borussia Dortmund starlet has finally put some injury issues behind him and wants to prove why the German side spent €8m on him when he was still only 16.
As for the type of player he is, the outlet compare him to the latest Manchester City star, which he was more than happy with, even if he feels they aren’t exactly the same.
He said: “It’s true that there are a huge amount of similarities, but we also have a few differences. I have followed Jeremy for a very long time, when I was young at Anderlecht. He’s electric. He moves so quickly! There are certain things I’ve been able to pick up by watching him.”
Since joining Manchester City, Doku has found the back of the net five times and assisted another six goals in 33 appearances in all competitions.
