On Monday, we relayed news from Spain that Atlético Madrid goalkeeper Ivo Grbić has said yes to Sheffield United.
On Tuesday, Marca states the La Liga side could announce three deals today, including the 28-year-old’s exit.
The stopper’s impending transfer to Sheffield United has seen Diego Simeone’s side sign Rapid Bucharest’s Horațiu Moldovan. The latter has already completed medical tests and it’s another deal that Atlético could announce today.
Moldovan’s arrival is taking place because of the Croatia international’s desire to leave Los Rojiblancos.
Grbić joined the Madrid club in 2020 and Marca say he was a bet of Atlético sporting director Andrea Berta, who rated him highly.
However, the stopper couldn’t showcase his qualities, mainly because he featured only in 14 games and didn’t make an appearance this season. He also spent the 2021/22 season on loan at Lille.
The Croatian no longer wants to be Jan Oblak’s backup and has made a decision to make a switch to Sheffield United this month, even though his deal expires in the summer.
Grbić will be hoping to feature regularly at Sheffield United for the rest of this season.
